In Ireland, KPMG has been backing LEGOⓇ clubs as an after-school activity for helping children to develop their creativity and social skills. KPMG has been working with Dublin’s North Inner City community organisation to increase the access of these LEGOⓇ clubs to children. The idea was part of KPMG Project Bright where KPMG employees come up with great ideas as a part of their commitment to the community.
This project focuses on LEGO play as a motivation to improve the children’s emotion recognition skills, their social interaction, as well as their logistical and problem-solving capabilities. Teams from KPMG engage in a 4-week challenge where the children had to build original creations with sustainable, innovative twists and then upload pictures to showcase their work. The programme was handed over to the community to sustain and grow through local community youth centres and initiatives.
